This site sets no cookies. It uses local storage instead, which stays in your browser and is never sent with a request. If advertising is added in future, that would introduce third-party cookies, and this page will be updated before that happens.
Cookies and local storage are not the same thing
A cookie is a small piece of data that your browser attaches to every request it makes to a site, which is what makes cookies useful for tracking. Local storage is a separate mechanism: data is saved in your browser and read only by JavaScript running on that same site. It is never attached to a request and never travels to a server on its own.
We use local storage, and only local storage, because everything we need to remember is for your benefit on this device and has no reason to travel anywhere.

Managing what is stored
Everything this site stores can be removed from your browser settings, usually under a heading like “Cookies and site data”. Clearing site data for gemarcadegames.xyz removes your scores, favourites, play history and preferences immediately. The games keep working; they simply start from zero again.
You can also play with site data blocked entirely. The site detects that and says so on the favourites and recently played pages rather than failing silently, and every game remains fully playable — you just will not keep a personal best between sessions.
If advertising is added
Should we enable an advertising network, that provider would be able to set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser in order to serve adverts, limit repetition, and measure performance. In that case we would update this page before the change goes live to name the provider and link to its own cookie and privacy information, and we would implement whatever consent mechanism applies in your region.
We are stating this in advance because a cookie policy that describes services a site does not use is worse than no policy at all.
